| October 04, 2006 | | Real estate agents in the USA are finding that English is not enough to sell homes to Spanish-speaking buyers. | | In order to sell to the growing number of potential Latino home buyers, American real estate agencies are seeking to hire agents who speak Spanish. In an article entitled “Speaking the language,” David P. Willis of the Ashley Park Press explains the Hispanic real estate boom he has witnessed in his state alone. According to U.S. census bureau data, “the number of homes owned and occupied by Hispanics in New Jersey has risen about 70 percent in Monmouth County and about 56% in Ocean County.”
The increase in Hispanic home purchases is boosting the wilting real estate sector, since many Hispanics are first-time buyers. Bill Spadea, vice president of career development at Weichert Realtors, explains that an agent who speaks Spanish to Spanish-speaking clients is definitely at an advantage – and the buyers benefit too. Since loan and title documents are a challenge even for native English speakers, these are being translated as well to ensure everyone’s interests are protected.
This concept can be generalized to all types of business transactions: when both sides speak the same language, deals and negotiations are clearer for everybody. But if you don’t speak your clients’ language, translation and interpretation services are of the utmost importance. Contact Language Translation Inc. for all of your domestic and international language service needs. “We speak your language…and theirs.”
