| April 28, 2006 | | 110 million Europeans speak German, Europe’s top native language | | The German government is putting pressure on the European Union to make sure all texts are translated into German, according to the news site Deutsche Welle. The article reports that France has joined Germany in an effort to curb the dominance of English in official European Union communication. German is the European Union’s most widely spoken native tongue. An official language in four member states -- Germany, Belgium, Austria and Luxembourg -- it is also the second most popular second language after English. However, German’s relative difficulty poses a barrier to its widespread use in official European Union affairs. Although many German business people speak English, it is essential to translate commercial documents perfectly when doing business with European companies. That’s why Language Translation Inc. works with highly qualified German translators and interpreters, as well as providing translation services in all of Europe’s major languages. They are located in San Diego, California and have been in business for 17 years serving the U.S. and the many countries abroad with document translation, conference interpreting and software/website localization services. "We speak your language, and theirs."
